Hardware monitoring for Windows
PC monitoring that tells the truth.
Aikonic is a calm, premium telemetry dashboard for your Windows machine. It shows what is actually happening — and when it can't read something, it says so instead of inventing a number. One-time purchase. No account. No cloud.
Why it exists
Built around three sentences an owner should be able to say.
“It shows what's actually happening.”
And when it can't read something, it says so — with the reason — instead of making a number up.
“It remembers.”
The exact spike that throttled you last Tuesday, kept for 30 days with Control. Clarity remembers the last hour, on purpose.
“It feels finished.”
Paid once, and it's yours. No account required — a calm, considered tool that behaves like a thoughtful colleague.
Measurement integrity
A disclosed gap is evidence the other numbers are real.
Some values simply cannot be read on some boards. A tool that shows a number there is guessing. Aikonic renders the gap — with the reason — because the empty state is the advertisement.
No tach signal
Nothing is connected to this header, or the fan doesn't report speed. Either way, there is no number to show — so none is shown.
verdict: unavailable · reason: no tachometer on IT8792E
Unavailable
The driver path the industry relied on for years is blocked on modern Windows. Most tools work around it quietly, or interpolate. We say it plainly — and ship our own signed driver in V1.1.2
verdict: unavailable · reason: kernel driver blocked by OS policy
No composite health score. Ever.
Your PC is not “87 / 100”. A single score compresses away exactly the information you came for. Aikonic shows the measurements — and lets them mean what they mean.
Measured, never interpolated.
Every value on screen was read from a sensor. Nothing is estimated, smoothed into existence, or carried forward from a stale read and presented as live.
Calibrated, not assumed.
Every reading is validated to ±1 °C / ±2 % against reference measurements from the same sensor register.1 Where we can't meet the bar, we show the gap instead.
Clarity — free
Flawless, instant understanding.
The present moment, read directly from your hardware and rendered on one calm screen. Clarity is not a trial and nothing in it nags you — it's a complete product you can live in indefinitely.
- Ephemeral by design. Clarity keeps a rolling hour in memory. Close the app and it's gone — nothing is ever written to disk.
- Read-only fans. Live RPM for every fan that reports a real tachometer, grouped CPU cooler → GPU → case.
- Honest everywhere. Every absent value carries its reason, on the free tier too.
Live telemetry
CPU usage and per-core load, package power, memory and page file, per-drive storage, network throughput, GPU identity and usage.
Battery health
Charge, AC state and time remaining on laptops. Auto-hides on desktops instead of showing an empty panel.
Tools that measure
Storage SMART health, display dead-pixel test, and CPU / GPU / memory benchmarks run on real hardware.
System specs
An accurate inventory — VRAM, media and bus types, CPU code-name — plus a read-only view of startup apps.
Calm by default
Light and dark themes, Mini Mode, command palette (Ctrl+K), keyboard shortcuts, quiet error states with a technical-detail drawer.
Verifiable install
A built-in system verification smoke-test with an exportable JSON report, so you can confirm your install reads what it claims.
Control — one-time purchase
Understand behaviour, not just state.
Control remembers 30 days. Clarity remembers the last hour, on purpose — which of those you want is a choice you make explicitly, never a line we blur.
- Persistent history. 24-hour, 7-day and 30-day views on disk, downsampled honestly, with a per-metric drawer.
- Plain-language insights. Ranked findings with their evidence attached — “CPU has been running warm — around 82 °C for about an hour.”
- Event timeline & weekly digest. See what changed, when, and what co-occurred with it.
- Alerts & process control. Threshold-plus-duration alerts, OS notifications, a sortable process list with End Task, priorities and a watchlist.
- Sensor provenance. Per-metric source, confidence and fallback reason — the diagnostics overlay shows its working.
- Fast polling. Cadence from 250 ms to 5 s, your call.
- Covers up to 3 of your machines; $19 per additional seat
- Perpetual licence — all future updates and major versions included
- Cryptographically signed licence, validated on your machine. No account, no login
Clarity ships 18 August 2026. Control features unlock in the same app as they clear our quality bar — buy once and you have all of it, whenever it lands.
Privacy
The complete list of network calls.
Most monitoring tools publish what they collect. We can publish what we send — because the whole list fits on this page.
Licence validation
A first-launch activation and a periodic heartbeat, carrying a non-reversible install fingerprint derived on your device. The raw identifiers never leave your computer and cannot be recovered from the token. It is not linked to your name or an account — there is none.
Update check
An HTTPS request for a small version file from aikonic.app, carrying only the app version. Installing an update is always your decision.
What Aikonic never sends
No telemetry — not anonymised, not aggregated, not opt-in. No crash reports. No usage analytics. No behavioural identifiers. No third-party SDKs of any kind. Even the fonts ship inside the installer rather than loading from a CDN.
Scope, stated plainly
V1 observes. Control configures.
We'd rather ship a smaller product that is entirely true than a bigger one that is partly guessed. Here is exactly where the line sits today.
Observation, done right
- Live core telemetry and per-core load
- Read-only fan RPM (tach-only, honest gaps)
- SMART, benchmarks, dead-pixel test
- Temperatures wherever the sensor can be read2
- Rolling one-hour in-memory history
The signed driver
- Aikonic-attested kernel driver — reliable CPU and GPU temperatures everywhere
- Fan control with a fail-to-auto safety model
- Alerts and automation (Control)
- CSV export and a local data API
And beyond
- Deeper tuning, carefully gated — starting with undervolting
- Whatever we build next will follow the same rule: measured, or absent with a reason
Requirements
Runs light. Installs clean.
| Operating system | Windows 11 24H2 / 25H2 — Intel systems are the primary target, AMD secondary. Windows 10 22H2 supported best-effort. V1 prioritises depth over breadth. |
|---|---|
| Install | Zero-prerequisite MSI — the .NET runtime it needs is bundled, nothing else to fetch. WebView2 (ships with Windows 11). |
| Privileges | The app runs as your user, unelevated. Sensor access lives in a dedicated Windows service, so a compromised window can never escalate to Administrator. |
| Signing & supply chain | Every release is EV code-signed with a published certificate fingerprint, and ships with a software bill of materials (SBOM). |
| Security contact | security@aikonic.app — 7-day acknowledgement, 90-day coordinated disclosure. |
| Updates | Manual in V1 — Aikonic tells you an update exists; installing it is your decision. |
1 Accuracy acceptance bar: within ±1 °C / ±2 % of the reference reading taken from the same sensor register on the same hardware. Where a value cannot meet this bar, Aikonic shows an unavailable state with the reason rather than an estimate.
2 On Windows 11 24H2 and later, the kernel driver path most monitoring tools historically used is blocked by operating-system policy, so many machines will show CPU or GPU temperatures as unavailable in V1.0 — including when running as Administrator. Reliable temperatures everywhere arrive with Aikonic's own signed driver in V1.1. We consider telling you this before you download to be part of the product.
3 $39 is launch pricing. One-time payment, covering up to 3 seats; additional seats $19 each. The licence is perpetual and includes all future updates and major versions at no additional charge. Sold via Paddle as merchant of record, which handles VAT/GST.
